SOUTH JERSEY CONNECTION TO WOMEN’S WORLS CUP TITLE

The star of Sunday’s Women’s World Cup 5-2 victory by the USA over Japan, is from Delran, New Jersey. Carli Lloyd, a 32 year-old midfielder scored three goals in the first 16 minutes of the match to give the Americans their third overall Word Cup championship. Lloyd scored six goals in seven matches in this year’s tournament and won the Golden Ball trophy as the player of the tournament.
