Hi Jax Phil and Mark,
Thanks for offering this platform to help people.
I hope your audience will understand my problem
and can help me.
My husband lost his mother last April. It was
devastating to him as you can understand. She
was born in the 1920s and never had anything
handed to her. That is why, for years, she put up
the same Christmas decorations on her home (of
course neighbors and friends helped until last
Now here’s the issue. He would like to continue
her tradition at OUR home starting this year. I hope
your listeners will understand, the neighborhood we
live in is a little more upscale. People pay local
companies to professionally hang their holiday
lights. To put it frankly, some of our neighbors will
surely not appreciate it. It’s the closest to a
“neighborhood association” without officially having
one. And some of the decorations she has are very
old and weathered.
How do I go about this? I don’t want to come off as
insensitive, I’m not trying to be. It’s just a fact that
people will be talking in the neighborhood if these
decorations go up.
