ASK THE MORNING AFTER, 9/25/14
Hi Phil Mark and Jax,
I think I have a situation that is perfect for
your “Ask The Audience” feature.
I frequent a local restaurant that is family-
owned and mostly family-run. They did hire
a few employees however who are needed
to help run the operation.
This past weekend the place was a little
busy so one of the hired help was preparing
meals. I watched as he made food. He was
wearing the plastic gloves which was good,
but when I went to pay for my meal, I noted
he did NOT remove the gloves.
My stomach started to turn. Doesn’t he know
how filthy the money is? I asked him as much
to which he replied, “Oops I forgot to take the
gloves off.” But that left me wondering, how
many times did he “forget”? Because quite
frankly he looked stunned that I even
mentioned it.
So should I take his word that it was a one-
time incident, or should I say something to
the owner? I’m good friends with the family
and I know they take quality seriously. I
wouldn’t even be surprised if this person
gets fired.
What should I do?
