If you stay on a municipal ball field during a storm and get struck by lightning, you may also have to pay a fine as well in one North Jersey community. The city of East Rutherford is considering a new law that would result in tickets and fines for those who intentionally stay on municipal fields even after police clear the area due to a threat of lightning. During the past month, two residents of Bergen County have died during lightning strikes, including one from East Rutherford.
