WOMAN FALLS ASLEEP BEHIND WHEEL AND CRASHES

A traffic accident occurred in Hamilton Township when a woman fell asleep behind the wheel. Antoinette Johnson age 33 of Atlantic City NJ, was operating a 1998 Chrysler Sebring, traveling on Route 322 Eastbound with her passenger, April Garrett age 50 of Atlantic City NJ. Ms. Johnson fell asleep while driving and crossed all four lanes into the westbound lanes. She woke up, crossed all four lanes back to the eastbound side, left the roadway, crashed through a utility pole and then crossed all four lanes again coming to rest on the shoulder of the westbound lanes. Only minor injuries were reported and both driver and passenger declined transport to a hospital. Johnson was cited for careless driving.
