WOMAN CHARGED WITH THROWING HERSELF, BABY INTO BAY

A 24 year old woman from Atlantic City is accused of jumping into a bay with her baby over the weekend.  Authorities have identified the woman as Patricia Shurig, who is in police custody following the incident.  Shurig’s mother told the Press of Atlantic City that she thinks her daughter may be suffering from postpartum depression.  A visitor to Atlantic City is credited with helping to save Shurig and her baby from the cold bay waters.
