WOMAN ASSAULTED AFTER CAR CRASHES INTO HER HOME

On Monday a Bridgeton man was charged with assault after allegedly crashing his car into a woman’s home and then attacking her. Police reported that when they arrived, officers found Vincent H. Pierce, 27, “still going after the victim,” according to a police report. Pierce, of Reeves Road, resisted arrest and continued to go after the woman, and police needed to use pepper spray to control the attacker. Pierce was charged with aggravated assault, simple assault, resisting arrest, drunken driving and possession of less than 50 grams of marijuana. He is being held in the Cumberland County Jail on $10,000 bail.
