You can forget all about New Jersey having a wind farm offshore of South Jersey as an alternate energy source. The New Jersey Board of Public Utilities soundly rejected a proposal to create a huge wind farm off the coastline in the ocean. The big reason for the rejection? New Jersey taxpayers would be on the hook for about $188 million in expenses for the wind farm if federal funding did not become available. Environmentalists say they are troubled by the unanimous rejection of this wind farm effort.
