One of the most famous landmarks in South Jersey will be getting a face lift. The Greater Wildwoods Tourism Improvement and Development Authority (GWTIDA) announced plans to refurbish the destination’s seven-year-old landmark Wildwoods Sign located on the Boardwalk at Rio Grande Avenue. The project will be completed in two phases so that the letters ‘WILDWOODS’ will always be visible. Phase one will consist of removing the front letters, leaving the background letters intact. Phase two will entail reinstalling the front letters of the sign with newly refurbished and refinished letters; then taking down, refinishing and replacing the background letters. The entire process is scheduled to take approximately two weeks to complete.
