This week the Glenwood Elementary School in Wildwood received a $50,000 federal grant for instructing students with disabilities. The Wildwood Leader reports that state officials have awarded the funds to support students with disabilities in the state’s highest-need schools, designated as “priority” or “focus” schools. Officials at the Glenwood Avenue School plan to use part of the grant for technology, such as 20 mini iPads, as well as professional development for teachers. The grant was awarded by the state education department as part of the federal Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) grant.
