An emergency appropriation was approved by the state to allow for police and firefighters to keep their jobs in Wildwood. Mayor Ernie Troiano spoke with Coastal Broadcasting after his visit to Trenton and said this will provide a stop-gap for the city to determine its course of action. A number of measures have been put into place to bring in additional revenue. Parking meter costs are going up in the city. A quarter will now get you 10 minutes at a meter compared to 15 minutes. Also, Troiano said that ambulance fees are being adjusted and the city is expected to garner additional revenue as a result.
Troiano did say that no tax increases should take place as a result of the decision on Monday.
