There will be no tax increase this year. Wildwood City officials made it official this week when they proposed a new budget with no tax increase. Mayor Gary DeMarzo confirmed to Coastal Broadcasting this week that there would be no tax decrease either. DeMarzo had been shooting for a four cent decrease with the cuts that had been made. The city sustained a loss of just over $200 million in ratables. A layoff plan has been presented to the state, as previously reported by Coastal Broadcasting, but confirmation has not come back yet. The plan includes laying off of 44 workers.
