In recent weeks, the Wildwood Police Department has received reports of a possible phone scam targeting residents in our area. According to those that have been contacted, the caller claims to be a representative of “Windows 7” and asks for information about the resident and their computer system. In at least one case, the resident questioned the caller about the company he represents and his reason for calling. The caller then became verbally abusive and eventually hung up. The Wildwood Police Department would like to take this time to remind everyone to ensure you know who you give any personal information to over the phone or internet.
