WILDWOOD POLICE OFFICER KEEPS DAMAGE DOWN AT FIRE SITE

A fire that took place on Thursday did less damage thanks to quick action by a Wildwood Police officer. Wildwood Ptlm. James Stevens noticed a fire from the deck of the residence on the 100 block of East Davis Ave. during the early morning hours. Stevens ensured the building was evacuated and helped suppress the fire until the city’s fire department arrived. Fire officials later determined the likely cause of the fire was an improperly discarded cigarette. Wildwood Police Chief Robert Regalbuto thanks Officer Stevens for his quick action.
