WILDWOOD POLICE ARREST MAN THREATENING TO BURN DOWN MAYOR'S HOME

A man is alleged to have threatened to burn down Wildwood Mayor Gary DeMarzo’s home. Wildwood Police arrested as Anthony J. Vesper, a 23 year-old Wildwood resident who is employed as an exotic dancer in Atlantic City. The perpetrator was arrested without incident on the 300 block of West Burk Avenue, after being positively identified as the perpetrator by Mayor DeMarzo. The incident had started when DeMarzo advised a group of subjects who had been acting in a disorderly manner in the 300 West block of Burk Avenue to quiet down and move along. Vesper was charged with terroristic threats, a crime of the third degree, and disorderly conduct, a petty disorderly person’s offense. He has been lodged in the Cape May County Correctional Center.
