WILDWOOD MAN CHARGED WITH ASSAULT VIA MEAT CLEAVER

Wildwood Police have charged a 59 year old man with aggravated assault and other offenses after he attacked a woman with a meat cleaver.  Police say the assault occurred on Tuesday, March 3rd at a residence in the 100 block of East Andrews Avenue.  Anthony Torella allegedly assaulted 53-year old Brenda Figueroa with the meat cleaver.  She suffered a three inch laceration on the back portion of her left hand.  Bail for Torella was set at $100,000.
