The City of Wildwood has notice that the Federal Emergency Management Administration will repay its eligible costs for emergency work incurred during the severe winter storms that occurred here on February 5 and 6, 2010.
Wildwood will be reimbursed $123,997, representing a federal 75 percent cost share authorized under the Stafford Act.
The funds included cost estimates from supporting city work forces (Fire Police, EMS, and Public Works), as well as the cost of damage to City facilities, emergency protective measures, and shelters.
“We are extremely grateful for FEMA’s assistance in economic times like these,” said Mayor Gary DeMarzo.
The City also recently received word that federal disaster aid for the severe storm of December 26 and 27, 2010, will be made available to local governments in Cape May County, and Wildwood’s Emergency Management staff will apply for funding within the next month.
