The Wildwood City Fire Department responded to 4800 Arctic Avenue for a reported dwelling fire at 11:33 AM. Firefighters found fire in one unit of a three unit dwelling. Fire was confined to the kitchen area of that unit. The building was occupied at the time of the incident. The occupants self-evacuated prior to the Fire Departments arrival. Fire units operated on scene for about an hour. There were no reported injuries. The fire was investigated by the Cape May County Fire Marshal’s Office and the City of Wildwood Fire Department and determined to be accidental (cooking). Damage is estimated at $10,000. Fire damage was throughout was contained to the unit of origin.
