The Cape May County Department of Tourism went to Montreal, Canada, at the beginning of June to network with more than 100 journalists and correspondents representing print, radio, TV and Internet outlets at the annual media showcase hosted by the Association of National Tourist Office Representatives (ANTOR). The Cape May County Tourism Department was there to pitch story ideas about the destination and encourage future media tours of the area. Tourism Director Diane Wieland told Coastal Broadcasting that success was met at this meeting as quite a few journalists are interested in coming down and will write stories on Cape May County. The amount of free advertising that this provides is a huge asset to the efforts of the county’s tourism department. Cape May County is a member of ANTOR, Canada along with tourism offices representing countries such as Belgium, Sweden, Morocco and France among others.
