Lt. Governor Kim Guadagno met with a several key tourism officials from around the state last week. One of those was Cape May County Tourism Director Diane Wieland. Guadagno, who doubles as the Secretary of State, oversees tourism from the state-wide level. Wieland says following the coversation she believes that the Gov. Chris Christie adminstration believes tourism is important, but funding will likely not increase any time in the near future. The state budget has been increasing difficult to balance year-after-year. Wieland said she made a presenation in how the local Destination Marketing Organization, which makes up Cape May and Cumberland counties, is working and how effect it is.
