The widow of Jerame Reid, who was shot and killed by a Bridgeton police officer in 2014, launched a charity in his name on Wednesday. Reid’s Manor was started by 39 year-old Lawanda Hartsfield-Reid of Upper Deerfield Township, to assist Bridgeton city residents in need. The charity was launched with a barbecue at the spot on Henry Street where her husband was fatally shot by police, and dozens of school backpacks were distributed to neighborhood children.
