A familiar face could be back in Cape May. Former councilman Jack Wichterman has been tapped to fill a vacancy on the Cape May Council that was opened up by Jerry Inderwies Jr. stepping down. Wichterman last served on council last year when he decided to not run for reelection. He is also on vacation and has not been able to tell council whether he accepts the position or not. Council was running up on the 30 day deadline to make a decision. In November, voters will have their choice among candidates who decide to run to fill the position officially. If Wichterman declines to serve, the seat will remain open through the November election.
