A 65-year-old man died as a result of West Nile Virus. Health officials confirm it is the first death in the state as a result of the virus since 2013. The Passaic County man died on Aug. 29. He is reported to be one of seven people infected with the virus this year in New Jersey. None of the reported cases have come from Atlantic, Cape May, or Cumberland counties.
