The National Weather Service has downgraded a potential big winter storm for our region on Sunday. The latest forecast issued Friday afternoon shows a chance for a small snowfall Sunday into Sunday night with strong gusty winds and the potential for minor to moderate coastal flooding. The big storm will form well offshore and there’s virtually no chance for a heavy snowfall at the shore on Sunday. There’s a much better chance for heavy snow north of New York City. Strong winds will blow Sunday evening, and there could be coastal flooding at the time of high tide Sunday evening and again Monday morning. Right now, the best guess has our snowfall totals being an inch or two, and nothing more.
