WATER PIPING UPGRADES BEING WORKED ON IN OCEAN CITY

New water piping is be put in for parts of Ocean City. The resort had work begin on Monday to upgrade its water mains along 9th St., from Bay to Asbury Avenues, to increase fire flows, to improve water reliability, and maintain water quality. The work will be done in three phases. New Jersey American Water is cooperating with the Ocean City Police Department to reduce the impact of construction on traffic and businesses. New Jersey American Water contractors will work Monday through Thursday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily, with an exception on Fridays when work will cease earlier to accommodate weekend visitors to Ocean City. At the end of each work day and throughout each weekend, all four lanes of traffic will be reopened.
