One thing is clear…transportation funding is an issue. The thing that isn’t clear is how to pay for it. A new Fairleigh Dickinson University PublicMind poll says that 68 percent of voters don’t support raising the gas tax to pay for projects, while 28 percent favor it. Something has to be done in New Jersey because the money being brought in is solely going to debt service at this time. The gas tax hasn’t been changed since 1988.
