Lower Township Mayor Michael Beck
The switch from a mayor’s advisory board to a citizen’s advisory board in Lower Township has begun. The Republicans pushed through the ordinance on Wednesday. The approval was on first reading. A second reading and public hearing must still take place. The plan is to change the board to a 10 member group with each elected official having two picks. Mayor Michael Beck has been the only member of council against the move, saying the change is political motivated.
