VINELAND MAN ASSAULTS WOMAN DURING ALLEGED CARJACKING

Vineland police report that a 25 year-old man allegedly punched a mother of two in the face and tried to carjack her with her two children in the car. The 35 year-old woman was stopped at a traffic light at 4th Street and Landis Avenue on March 28 shortly after noon with her children, ages 11 and 14. Anthony M. Wallace, of North 3rd Street, allegedly opened her car door, tried to pull her from then car and punched her before she could speed away. Wallace was later arrested at the Vineland Pep Boys, charged with carjacking and jailed on $500,000 cash bail.
