VETO OVERRIDE VOTE ON GUN BILL FAILS

An attempted veto override regarding a gun bill did not pass on Thursday. Senate President Steve Sweeney when he saw he didn’t have the votes pulled the item from the agenda and vowed to have it voted on again. The legislation would have included police officers in the process of figuring out whether someone could apply for a gun permit if they are mentally ill.
