A letter was sent out by Verizon threatening its workers with lost benefits, if picketing continues. The Star Ledger reports that the letters were distributed to the 45,000 picketing workers. Employees would lose their benefits as of Aug. 31 if a new deal can’t be agreed to by the union and Verizon. The report says that the union referred to the letter as a “scare tactic.” Verizon workers are represented by the Communications Workers of America.
