The chief of Verizon in New Jersey said all telephone rates will remain unchanged for two years. Dennis Bone made that pledge prior to a controversial vote on Monday that could lead to deregulation in the telecommunications industry. Many opponents are concerned that the bill will lead to less services and higher prices. The Star-Ledger reports that in a letter they obtained that went to key leaders in the state legislature, Bone promised that rates would not be increased for the next two years.
