A Ventnor woman who was charged for killing and dismembering her husband and keeping his remains in storage containers for six years was sentenced on Wednesday. Loretta Doyle Burroughs, 63, was sentenced to 55 years in prison for the 2007 stabbing death of her husband, Daniel Burroughs, 66, and concealing evidence of her crime. Her husband’s remains were found in the bedroom closet of her Ventnor home in May of 2013 as she was in the process of moving to the Villas. Burroughs will be serving 55 years in New Jersey State Prison on the murder charge, and three years on the hindering apprehension charge, to be served concurrently.
