It was another way for the Catholic Church to raise money. A villa in Ventnor has been auctioned off. The Archdiocese of Philadelphia netted just over $4 million. The 11 bedroom villa was most recently assessed for over $6 million. This move will bring in some dollars for an archdiocese that has been under financial strife in recent years.
