A motor vehicle accident took place early Saturday morning involving a vehicle hitting trees. Responding officers found the vehicle ran off the roadway, struck several trees, and trapped the driver inside. Crews from the Laureldale and Cologne volunteer fire departments responded, as well as the Township of Hamilton Rescue Squad and AtlantiCare Paramedics. The incident took place off Cologne Avenue just south of Holly Street. The driver of the vehicle, a 17 year old Galloway resident, was extracted from the heavily damaged vehicle and flown by Pennstar 2 to Atlantic City Medical Center, City Division, with serious injuries.
