A former assemblyman has been found guilty of corruption, following an FBI sting last summer. Daniel Van Pelt was one of the 44 people arrested by the FBI during a sting last year. He was charged with taking a $10,000 bribe, and on Wednesday, he was found guilty. A sentencing date has been set for Aug. 24. Van Pelt claims he was working as a consultant. He now faced a possibility of 30 years in jail. Van Pelt had served out of the 9th district.
