The state’s chamber of commerce recognized Senator Jeff Van Drew for his efforts to help business. The New Jersey Chamber of Commerce named Van Drew “legislator of the year” for his efforts to better the business climate and boost the state’s economy. He was also recognized as a leading figure in the New Jersey Legislature advocating for the proposed natural gas pipeline to the B.L. England generating station in South Jersey, which would keep the station open, strengthen the region against gas outages, and protect the state’s future use of energy and South Jersey’s economic sustainability.
