Promises, promises. The state has been making promises to take down the lights on the Garden State Parkway over recent years but no significant progress has been made. Calling further delays in a project to remove traffic lights from the southern end of the Garden State Parkway intolerable, Senator Jeff Van Drew today called on state officials to immediately resolve issues regarding federal permitting to allow the traffic-safety project to get underway. Van Drew noted that he even recently avoided a serious rear-end accident on the stretch of the Parkway when a motorist did not realize until the last second that there was a red light ahead.
