“– USER FEES” COULD BE COMING TO END IN LOCAL GOVERNMENT

Towns may think twice next time they try to get around the two percent property tax cap. Gov. Chris Christie is working with Senate President Steve Sweeney to get a law in place that would ban “user fees” to be charged by towns to get around the cap. These fees can include things like charging for trash pick up. It is unclear how far this law will go as its in the early developmental stages.
