UPPER TOWNSHIP STILL WANTS PIPELINE TO POWER PLANT

Perhaps a gas pipeline to the Beesley’s Point Power Plant isn’t dead yet. The Pinelands Commission previously deadlocked in a vote regarding running a pipeline through the pinelands, effectively killing the proposal at the time. Since then Senator Jeff Van Drew has publically asked the commission to reconsider. Upper Township Mayor Richard Palumbo said on Monday that Upper Township Committee favors the pipeline and is working with all lawmakers involved to see what other options are available to work with South Jersey Gas on.
