The Upper Township Committee met Monday night and decided to borrow some money to pay for an upcoming beach fill project. The committee hired a special legal team to help them borrow the money needed for Upper’s share of the beach fill project, expected to cost more than $5 million. Upper Township expects the Federal Emergency Management Agency to pay for 75 percent of the project. Strathmere’s beachfront took a big hit during the blizzards over the past two winters.
