Upper Township could have a major change in the way trash is picked up. The township is looking into an automated pick up that would only require one public works worker to drive a truck and no one else. A number of retirements are coming within public works and township officials are looking into this possible change. It would require some spending upfront, but could provide long-term savings. The plan is going to be reviewed by the township auditor to see if the savings make sense.
