The search for boaters reported in the water Friday night about a half-mile off the coast of Brigantine has been suspended by the U.S. Coast Guard. Officials received a report of three to four people in the 46-degree water after their boat allegedly capsized in the Atlantic Ocean on Friday evening. Local police said a search of the area on Saturday did not turn up any vessels in distress and no boaters were reported overdue. Authorities will continue to patrol the beaches and have asked boaters to report anything unusual to the Coast Guard on Channel 16.
