UPDATE: NEW RUTGERS PRESIDENT ANNOUNCED VIA WEBSITE

It wasn’t supposed to happen this way, but now everybody knows who will be named as the new president of Rutgers University. The plan was for the new president to be announced at a special meeting on Wednesday, but his picture was briefly posted on the university’s media website on Tuesday. Rutgers is expected announce their new president to be Robert L. Barchi, 65, the outgoing president of Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia. Current President Richard McCormick announced last year his plans to step down come July 1.
