Weather forecasters are still calling for Tropical Cyclone Hermine to turn back towards the east coast, but that has not yet occurred. As of the 8AM update from the National Hurricane Center, Hermine was headed ENE at 12 mph, with sustained wind speeds of 65 mph. Even as the storm moves further out to sea, the effects of Hermine still pack the potential for coastal and back-bay flooding during high tide events this morning and later tonight. Hermine is a large storm system and is expected to meander 100 to 200 miles offshore through midweek.
