A woman working at a ShopRite supermarket in Absecon was stabbed in an unprovoked attack Saturday morning. Absecon Police responded to the business on the White Horse Pike just before 10 am February 4th and found the accused, 33-year old Jason C. Wedderburn of Absecon, nearby. The woman, whose identity is being withheld by authorities, was rushed to the hospital. Her condition was also not released. Police do not believe the victim did anything to provoke the attack and the two parties did not know each other. Wedderburn was taken into custody without incident and was lodged in the Atlantic County Justice Facility. An investigation is ongoing.
