One-third of the 500 union workers at the Trump Taj Mahal have no health insurance, according to a survey by their union. The Press of Atlantic City reports that Unite-Here Local 54 surveyed their workers and found that of those workers with health insurance, nearly half are receiving health care through the Affordable Care Act, Medicare or Medicaid. Union workers had their health and pension benefits cut during the bankruptcy restructuring of the Taj Mahal, and now they are voting on June 16th whether to authorize a strike at five casinos in Atlantic City.
