UNDERCOVER POLICE OFFICER TAKES THE STAND IN COSTINO CASE

One of the undercover police officers who posed as an exotic dancer during an investigation of North Wildwood doctor John Costino, took the stand at his trial on Thursday. Little Egg Harbor Township Police Officer Tanya Anderson testified that she was working undercover for the DEA when she received several prescriptions for the painkiller Percoset from the doctor. Anderson said she was instructed not to mention the word “pain” as she used a false insurance card to obtain the medication. Costino is charged with nine counts of drug distribution and seven counts of health care claims fraud.
