It was another unsuccessful day for Democrats in Trenton. A number of votes were taken in an attempt to override the line-item vetoes down by Gov. Chris Christie, which in effect cut about $1 billion out of the budget. One of those votes that came up short was in the Urban Enterprise Zone funding. Democrats failed to get the three Republican votes needed to reverse this cut. According to State Senator Jeff Van Drew, this could put the Wildwood boardwalk replacement in jeopardy. Christie and the Republicans supported diverting $94 million into the general fund.
