Nearly two years ago Tracy Hottenstein’s body was found in Sea Isle City during Polar Bear Plunge weekend. Now her family is suing the city, its police force, medics, and other officials. Sea Isle City is now in receipt of a lawsuit from Hottenstein’s parents, Charles and Elizabeth Hottenstein of Pennsylvania. It alleges that the city’s acceptance of massive drinking and partying during the weekend led to their daughter’s death in February, 2009. Hottenstein’s body was found near the bayfront at 42nd Street during the early morning hours after the plunge; she did not take place in the polar bear plunge that weekend.
