A new report released by RealtyTrac shows an alarming increase in foreclosure activity in New Jersey. The reports says foreclosures were up by 130 percent from the third quarter of 2011, with Atlantic and Cumberland Counties leading the way. One in every 312 homes in Atlantic County faced an initial foreclosure filing, auction notice or a bank repossession, according to the Irving, Calif.-based tracking service. The Cumberland County number was one in every 299 homes. The state average was one in every 424. Cumberland and Atlantic counties trailed Sussex and Warren counties for the state’s highest rates of foreclosure activity per housing unit. Cape May County ranked 20th on the list.
